My name is Connie Vaughan and I am a fully qualified Shiatsu Practitioner. I have a passion for supporting physical health and emotional well-being, and believe this is equally important for the individual and the family unit. I am a mother of two beautiful boys, an intuitive empath, and the director of my partners Carpentry business.
I was first introduced to Shiatsu 20 years ago when I was struggling with my own health problems. Shiatsu helped to turn my life around and enabled me to take charge of my health. Though I was struggling with undiagnosed coeliac disease, having Shiatsu gave me more energy, it drastically improved my moods, and dramatically helped my tummy problems. I was so inspired by the positive impact it had on my life I went on to study Shiatsu in 2004, and became fully qualified in 2008.
Since qualifying I have had 2 children, and been on quite a journey! After my first born I had post-natal depression. Shiatsu was a wonderful help in supporting me through this time and it reaffirmed to me how important emotional wellbeing is. I was lucky to be well again and grow from this difficult experience. I decided to train in specialist baby shiatsu as I think it’s so crucial for the baby to be in optimal health, both for the baby and for the well-being of the mother. This was an amazing experience and I have really enjoyed working with babies and young children since.
As a parent myself, I follow the Hand in Hand parenting approach, which promotes parenting through connection and encourages listening to our children’s feelings which in turn helps them to heal. I have found using the tools advocated by Hand in Hand in combination with Shiatsu, a great model for a happy family life. Find out more here in the ‘Working with Families‘ section.
Shiatsu supports us on all levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Shiatsu can help people to feel more relaxed, balanced and centred in mind, body and soul, as well as improving specific health problems.
I have found over the years of treating clients, that some people need to have a little more time to explore their emotional health. I therefore offer more in-depth sessions to focus on exploring emotions, and by using different energy work techniques I help clients to unravel complex emotional patterns and make positive changes. Shiatsu works alongside these sessions really well and they can really support you as a parent when trying to deal with your own triggers that come up when parenting. Please see the Exploring Emotions with Energy Work, Facilitating Change page for more information.
We all have the innate ability to heal ourselves but it does take time and commitment. Shiatsu offers a nourishing helping hand to support us on our healing journey.
